Hi! I’m Sloan. Sloan is my Mimi’s maiden name. I loved being named for her. I also love Jesus, musicals (ahem- Wicked), the Georgia Bulldogs, Gossip Girl and Glee, parentheses, laughing, Twitter and Instagram, cupcakes and obviously my family and friends and sweet husband, Ryan. I also enjoy a cup of tea every morning, eating at new restaurants and reading, long walks with Ryan, interior design and crafts. I try to send birthday cards to my friends, but I usually fail. I am passionate about the environment and am a wanna-be gardener. One day, I hope to have a house full of faux wood paneling to paint and avocado green shag carpet to rip out. I’m not a big bread fan. I do not like asparagus or broccoli, cleaning (although I do try to make the bed every morning) , breaking in new Rainbows, taking medicine or having headaches.
I graduated from The University of Georgia with a major in Furnishings and Interiors and a minor in Housing in December of 2009. I have no idea what the minor means- it just allowed me to stay an extra football season. I’m a 4th generation UGA graduate. In August of 2011, I moved to the big city of Atlanta, and started my first big girl job. Then, married Ryan in May of 2013. We bought our first house in April of 2014 and adopted our puppy, Jolene, in July of 2014. Whoa.
So it seems I’m growing up, whether I like it or not. Thanks for following along on my journey that is sure to be full of laughter and tears, mistakes and triumphs.
I started this blog as a desire to record my life. I realized that I wish I had memories of my grandparents when they were my age. This blog is about “everything and nothing.” What I do day-to-day may not interest
many people anyone, but hopefully when my grandchildren and great-grandchildren look back, they will be able to say that I loved well; that I loved God by loving others. And that is enough for me.
